Alberta Society of Professional Biologists - As a professional Society and self-regulating body in Alberta, the Alberta Society of Professional Biologists is committed to the promotion of excellence in the practice of biology.

Association of Alberta Forest Management Professionals - AAFMP is authorized under the Regulated Forestry Management Profession Act to regulate professional Foresters and Forest Technologists in Alberta for the enhancement of safe, ethical and competent forest management services in diverse practice environments.

Association of BC Forest Professionals is responsible for registering and regulating British Columbia’s professional foresters and forest technologists. With more than 5,300 members, including Registered Professional Foresters and Registered Forest Technologists, we represent the largest group of forestry professionals in Canada.

Association of Registered Professional Foresters of New Brunswick was founded in 1937. Members are bound by a code of ethics and are involved in national standards, policy development, and briefs to government, industry and university.

Association of Saskatchewan Forestry Professionals is responsible for Registered Professional Foresters (RPF) and Registered Professional Forest Technologists (RPFT) in the province. The purpose of the Association is to establish and maintain high standards for those practicing the profession of forestry in Saskatchewan.

British Columbia Institute of Agrologists is the provincial organization authorized under the Agrologists Act, a British Columbia statute, to govern the professional conduct of its members, in support of the public interest. Persons who hold themselves out to be an agrologist must be duly registered with BCIA under the Act.

Canadian Forestry Accreditation Board is responsible for the accreditation of Canadian university forestry programs for the purpose of meeting academic requirements for professional certification.

Canadian Society of Environmental Biologists is a non-profit registered society, whose primary focus is to further the conservation and prudent management of Canada's natural resources based on sound ecological principles.

College of Applied Biology - Professional Biologists in B.C. are governed by the College of Applied Biology. The College of Applied Biology Act is the first legislation of its kind in North America, and is the first time applied biologists have been granted full professional status through self governing legislation.

International Association for Landscape Ecology aims to develop landscape ecology as a scientific basis for analysis, planning and management of the landscapes of the world. IALE advances international co-operation and interdisciplinary synergism within the field, through scientific, scholarly, educational and communication activities.

International Forestry Students Association is an association of local and national organizations of university level forestry students. The goal of IFSA is to bring together forestry students from all over the world and represent these students at a global level. Founded in 1990, IFSA now has about 45 members from over 30 countries.

The International Society of Tropical Foresters, Inc. is a non-profit organization, and was first organized in 1950. The main objective of the organization is the transfer of technology and science to those concerned with the management, protection and wise use of tropical forests.

New Brunswick Forest Technician Association (NBFTA) The NBFTA is a voluntary organisation and is the legal certifying body of Forest Technicians and Technologists in New Brunswick. Certified members must successfully pass an exam and participate in the Canadian Institute of Forestry's Continuing Forestry Education Program.

Ontario Professional Foresters Association was established by The Professional Foresters Act, 2000. The principal object of the Association is to regulate the practice of professional forestry and to govern its members in accordance with this Act, the regulations and the by-laws in order that the public interest may be served.

These companies provide professional consulting services, grow seedlings, plant trees, tend stands, brush plantations, fight wild fires, prepare planting sites, survey forest regeneration, burn slash piles and restore forest and range ecosystems.
